ABOUT IAN MAKSIN

BREAKING BOUNDARIES both musical and geographical, cellist, composer and multilingual vocalist IAN MAKSIN has  developed his own unique style by blending elements of different genres in a new way using his cello as the main unifying force. 

From Balkan rhythms to West African groves, and from Argentine milonga to music of Mongolian shamans, Maksin magically connects and brings together some of the most diverse elements of world music.  Using loop pedal and other electronics, he augments the sound of his instrument into a virtual orchestra creating a one-of-a-kind listening experience.  Singing in 30 languages from Arabic and Farsi to Polish and Ukrainian, and from French and Italian to Turkish and Mongolian, Maksin takes his listener on a most musical journey around the globe.
